The 3 year old classroom is specifically designed to promote structured play and learning. Students take advantage of a variety of guided and independent activities which promote proper age appropriate growth such as:

Our VPK classroom is the hub of early learning. Building on the foundational skills learned in Preschool, children begin to prepare for Kindergarten. Teachers set developmentally appropriate educational standards for students to follow. Students participate in P.E. twice a week where they are guided through advanced motor skill tasks and expand their communication abilities.
In class, students follow multistep directions as they explore fundamental math and writing activities. Upon graduation VPK students will have mastered:

Phonemic Awareness: an understanding of the 44 different sounds that make up spoken words

Emergent Writing Experiences: practicing pencil grip and letter shapes

Sight Word Practice: learning to recognize individual letters

Social-Emotional Learning: understanding and identifying emotions, learning about friendships

Scientific Reasoning: inquiry-based exploration, learning to ask questions and observe

Mathematics Skills: counting and shape recognition

Visual Art Projects: understanding and using colors

In addition to in-class instruction, students participate in weekly dance class, lead by Kingdom Arts Academy, and once a week chapel with Pastor James of Hope Church.

What does it mean to be a part of the Next Gen family?
Next Gen Jr. is the latest addition to the Next Generation Academics family. We are thrilled to now offer PreK-6th grade. As part of this organization, Next Gen Jr. staff and students will be held to the same high standards. This includes:

Parents as partners. Parents are expected to participate in school events and assist students in developing their fundamental skills learned in class.

Being 'Ambassadors for Christ'. Students attend weekly chapels with Hope Church's pastor, Pastor James. Beginner level Christian lessons are shared in class and encouraged to become part of daily thinking i.e. 'treat others how you would like to be treated', and 'love your neighbor.'

Healthy mind and body. Students attend structured P.E class twice a week with Coach J. All facility meals and snacks are curated to promote a positive relationship with healthy food and encourage better brain function.
Being PREPARED
Ready for your first day? Let's get prepared! Students are asked to bring the following items to school:

VPK students are required to wear uniform; polo shirt, khaki/ black/ or navy bottoms.

Breakfast, lunch and snack are included! If students opt to bring their own food, it must adhere to nutritional guidelines.
